Jobs empowers me by noting the brevity of life and the difficulty in finding your inner voice. Social and media influences are so powerful as to overwhelm, and living an authentic life for yourself requires conscious intent and determination. The inner voice is authentic but not automatic.
While on the surface Yogananda's ideas of living for others seems contradictory, there is knowledge in the synthesis of the two. Your authentic self, when you recognize it, is powerfully you. Your best self is unselfish so that in living your own inner voice, you attract people that live for you as you live for them.
