Tho' we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven [image & text] - ZipMinis: Science of Blogging and Writing
This passage from Tennyson's poem "Ulysses" has always moved and inspired me. Ulysses has returned home after 20 years at battle and at sea. He is lounging around the castle with sweet Penelope, but feeling restless for adventure.
I feel his sense of loss with aging, the knowledge that I am not what I once was. This can be discouraging, but these words empower that which remains within me, to continue. He seeks his companions, urging them to "strive" and "find."
