Mines blog types in order to give perspective to potential or confused bloggers.
Notes that some of the basic blog types include -
Journals: considered one of the first types to emerge, making a personal diary or writing space public. Usually they are written in story form, but they vary widely both in the amount of advertising and the size of readership (generally considered acquaintances rather than clients).
Niche: range widely in topic, but the focus is narrowly defined so that bloggers can sell to a specific type of reader. They might have to do with famous people or high tech gadgets, but they stick rigidly to their topic to attract the right kind of buyer. They are in it for the money, run lots of ads, and sometimes have lousy quality. Others who are niche experts, write great content while drawing in the right crowd.
